TEMSA, the Official Transporter of the European Business Summit 2009, for the second consecutive year.
Around 2.600 high profile visitors, 173 speakers and 200 journalists had witness TEMSA’s campaign during the European Business Summit 2009 taking place in Brussels on 26th and 27th March. Every year the summit organizes a Presidents’ debate, 2009’s guest of honor was the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül.
"Make room for fresh air!" was the approach chosen by the bus & coach brand to generate curiosity and awareness amongst decision makers and opinion leaders at the European Business Summit for the role of buses and coaches in society.
This year’s theme of the summit was about sustainable "dare & care", a call to action for leaders in Europe to continue and reinforce their initiatives towards a more sustainable economy that also cares about the environment.
TEMSA proudly sponsored the summit as its "Official Transporter" with 3 TEMSA Safari HD and 1 TEMSA Opalin to transport guests from hotel or train station to summit & gala dinner. To ensure more use of these shuttle buses, TEMSA started teasing the guests before the summit as to their will to "make room for fresh air". The more people travel in buses or coaches, the less space will be used by individual cars and the less air pollution will be created. Each guest who chose to use the shuttle bus instead of individual car or taxi will receive a credit for a shot of fresh air at the TEMSA Oxygen bar in the summit’s conference building.
"We used a similar approach as last year but we’ve intensified the communication and the availability of shuttles in order to generate maximum awareness for buses and coaches that can rapidly and cost-effectively contribute tackling mobility and pollution issues in our society", said Sylvestre De Jaegher, Marketing Manager of TEMSA. "The most advanced technology is immediately available to reduce the air pollution generated by passenger cars drastically and with little investment from authorities. Both the common people and the decision makers should know that there is a solution at hand", he added.
Below is the campaign visual developed by TEMSA to vehiculate the above messages. The person represented in the drawing is "Sam" an average citizen.
