Since January this year, the TEMSA AVENUE is being presented to public authorities and public transport operators across a selected list of countries. TEMSA has dedicated a special team to displaying the vehicle and presenting it in detail with a comprehensive road test. Operators, drivers, technicians and of course local authorities find it very interesting to discover the latest technology available and the benefits it could bring to their fleets and overall transport solutions.
"We are a new player in this segment and therefore assume this role by meeting people proactively and particularly in regions that are less considered by our competitors. The Lebanon authorities, for instance, have confirmed that TEMSA is the only brand until now that has physically presented its vehicle to them and that has created a lot of enthusiasm. We will further demonstrate our vehicle and hope to reap the fruits of this "promotion tour" in the coming 6 months", says Ali Murat Atlas, Managing Director of TEMSA Europe.
In less than 4 months, TEMSA presented its low floor 12m Avenue Diesel to Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Syria, Lebanon and Bulgaria, and before the end of July 2010 another 8 countries are to be visited. The visit takes the form of a road show lasting multiple days, visiting the major cities and their respective operators.
In other Western European countries TEMSA's distributors are actively promoting the TEMSA AVENUE to local authorities and public transport operators, gaining feedback and adapting it to local requirements.

First Group UK trials TEMSA AVENUE - aim is to reduce carbon footprint
First UK Bus, Britain's largest bus company, is trialling the TEMSA AVENUE, aiming for 20% fuel efficiency compared to other single deck low floor vehicles. The trial will commence in Bradford from May 2010 for a period of six months and will be gauging feedback from its customers, drivers and engineers and closely monitoring performance, miles per gallon and maintenance.
The TEMSA AVENUE weighs just less than 10 tonnes, almost 1 tonne lighter than average thanks to the extensive use of composite materials on the roof, floor and body panels. It can seat 41 passengers and 29 standing passengers. It has low floor throughout and will be fitted with DriveGreen*.
"We are very excited about trialling the TEMSA AVENUE, which is manufactured to a high standard very much geared toward operating city services. It is spacious, comfortable and very impressive. We look forward to finding out what our passengers think", said David Liston, Engineering Director at First UK Bus. "The combination of weight advantage and First's DriveGreen* technology could make the TEMSA AVENUE the most fuel efficient diesel powered vehicle on the road. If we were to roll out these types of buses, we would make a serious impact on our own carbon footprint, not to mention the obvious savings that we could make on our fuel costs."
Ali Murat Atlas, Managing Director of Temsa Europe, said, "We are delighted to be working alongside a company of the weight, stature and reputation of First. Whilst we wouldn't wish to pre-judge the results of the trial, we are confident that it will be successful."
* DriveGreen technology has been fitted to First's buses across the UK. DriveGreen helps First drivers ensure buses operate more efficiently - producing fewer CO2 emissions as well as improving the journey experience for passengers. A 'traffic light' LED monitor on the vehicle dashboard flashes green if the driver is driving correctly, or amber or red if a bus driver carries out an unwanted driving manoeuvre such as heavy braking or unnecessary acceleration.
